Dr Bruce Howlett B.V.Sc. (B2)
Joined Stabler and Howlett in July 2004.
Bruce graduated from University of Qld in 1992 and commenced his career as a mixed practice vet in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Subsequently, Bruce worked in intensive large animal practice in Scottsdale, Tasmania where most of his work involved pregnancy testing, obstetrics, postnatal management and nutrition in dairy and beef cattle herds. He was then employed as a managing veterinarian in a 12 vet small animal hospital in inner city Brisbane where his duties included small animal medicine and surgery as well as staff management.

In 1997 Bruce and his wife Kerri established a Veterinary Surgery in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Town of Maleny. This grew into a true mixed practice involving small animal medicine and surgery, equine and alpaca reproductive services, as well as dairy and beef cattle services. Bruce and Kerri sold the business in June 2004. B2 is the primary large animal practitioner at Stabler + Howlett, and has a particular interest in equine reproduction. Bruce and Kerri have two young children, Toni and Ben. The Howlett residence is also home to Knuckles and Scooby (fox terriers), Noodles and Slinky Malinky (cats), and a fish called Tractor.

Dr Graham Stabler B.V.Sc. (retired)
Graduated from the University of Queensland in 1968. He worked in Hughenden with the Queensland DPI for six years engaged mainly in disease control in cattle and sheep, however, because in those days there were no other vets between Townsville and Mt Isa, he gained valuable experience in stud horse work, the racing industry and in small animals. It was during his time in Hughenden that he gained his pilot's licence, which saved him many miles of rough roads. In 1976, in partnership with Dr Bruce Howlett, he established this practice.

After thirty years as the primary large animal vet in the practice Graham retired in late 2006. This legendary practitioner remains a source of great inspiration to all at Stabler + Howlett, and is a source of wisdom and advice for the team.
