Dr Bruce Howlett B.V.Sc. (B1)
He graduated from the Queensland University Veterinary School in 1971. He gained valuable experience in mixed practices in Rockhampton and Armidale as well as two and a half years in England working in a large mixed practice in the Midlands and a specialist small animal practice in London. He has special interests in dairy, small animals and has valuable experience in greyhounds, birds and orthopaedic surgery. He commenced the practice with Graham Stabler in 1976. Bruce married Kerry O'Riordan in 1971 and has three children: Bruce is a sport enthusiast who coached Junior Soccer for many years and now spends his leisure time in pursuit of a golf ball. Dr Bruce Howlett B.V.Sc. (B2) Joined Stabler and Howlett in July 2004. Bruce graduated from University of Qld in 1992 and commenced his career as a mixed practice vet in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Subsequently, Bruce worked in multi vet small animal practice, intensive cattle practice, and ran his own mixed practice for 7 years. Bruce is the large animal vet in the Stabler & Howlett team with a special interest in the artificial breeding of horses. Bruce and Kerri have two young children and a collection of dogs, cats, cattle and horses. Dr. Daniel Taft B.V.Sc. (Hons) Daniel was born and bred in Cairns. After 17 years in the far north, he moved to Brisbane to pursue his studies and become a Veterinarian. After 6 years of study at the University of Queensland, Daniel decided to split the difference between his two former homes and joined us here in Mackay as part of the Stabler and Howlett team. Daniel has a keen interest in all aspects of mixed practice and has always had a particular soft spot for internal medicine and bovine health. During his time with us at Stabler and Howlett, Daniel has developed a growing appreciation and interest in equine reproduction work. Dr. Tim Jensma B.V.Sc. (Hons) Tim has always had a passion for animals and pursued this by completing Honours in Zoology at the Australian National University in 2001 and then Veterinary Science at Sydney University in 2008. Tim has a strong interest in wildlife and exotic animals and before becoming a vet he worked at the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra and for a commercial bird breeder of Amazon and Australian parrots. In his final year of studies Tim did internships with Taronga Zoo, Melbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary. Tim loves working with the smaller animals at Stabler and Howlett and treats everything from guinea pigs, birds and aquarium fish to the assorted wildlife that is brought in by the public and carers in the Mackay region. Dr Joanne Simon B.V.Sc (Hons) Joanne graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with honours at the University of Queensland in 2009. She has always had a keen interest in vet science from a young age and spent much of her high school years volunteering in a nursing role at local practices in her home town of Innisfail, North Qld. Her special interests include cattle medicine and small animal cardiology, surgery and physical rehabilitation. When not at work, she enjoys camping, hiking, fishing and spending time with her partner and pooch, Indiana. Dr Catherine Toft B.V.Sc. Growing up on a hobby farm in the Locker Valley gave Catherine a real passion for animals of all sizes. Catherine has owned horses, cattle, goats, pigs and chickens. Catherine’s family has been heavily involved in the horse industry, with Bremervale Arabians and endurance horses. Catherine has a keen interest in equine medicine as well as small animal medicine. Catherine completed her study of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland. With a keen interest in mixed practice, Catherine joins the team at Stabler and Howlett. Dr Roxanne Morgan (McFarlane) B.V.Sc. Roxanne grew up on a cattle property near Middlemount in Central Queensland. Completing school to grade 12 at Middlemount, Roxanne then spent 5 years in Brisbane studying Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland. Shannon Garnham Graduate Vet Nurse & Receptionist at the North Mackay Clinic. Staff member since 1999. Stacey Davidson Stacey commenced with the practice in 1987. Stacey is current;y working as the practice manager. Tracey Gould For several years Tracy has worked as the Veterinary Receptionist at the Mirani Clinic. Now working full time in the practice, Tracy has continued that roll as well as Inventory Manager and Veterinary Nursing. Nicole Sauer Nicole has commenced her study to become a Veterinary Nurse Reanna Mifsud Reanna has commenced her study to become a Veterinary Nurse. Elizabeth van Moolenbroek Libby is qualified Veterinary Nurse. Natasha Hall Natasha has commenced her study to become a Veterinary Nurse Melissa McGuinness Melissa is a qualified Veterinary Nurse. |
